How to get to Philippine Embassy Bangkok

Wednesday, January 9, 2019

It is my first time to go to the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok and I am alone. I know I can do it but still, I am afraid to get lost in the big city of Bangkok. I gathered all my strength because I don't have a choice but to go there alone since my passport is about to expire.  I research a lot before going to Bangkok. The easiest way to go there is to ride a plane and take a taxi going to Philippine Embassy Bangkok.

As for me, I went there by bus. I am planning to go there by train from Hatyai Junction to save money but later on, I decided to go there by bus. I bought a bus ticket for 643 baht a day before. You must buy a ticket in advance at least a day before you leave. You can't get a bus ticket if you buy it on the day you leave. Many locals travel by bus so it's sold out easily. You can also buy a ticket online at 12Go or BusOnline. The bus has a free blanket to use to cover yourself and snacks (bread and bottled water).

It took at least 14 hours to travel from Hatyai Bus Station to Mo Chit Bus Station. It is the nearest bus station near the Philippine Embassy.  The bus left at 6:00 pm and arrived in Mo Chit Bus Station past 8 in the morning. As we arrive at Mo Chit Bus Station, I was like a big big girl in the big big world. As I don't know where to go next. With the help of google map, I was able to find a way to the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok. From Mo Chit Bus Station, you can ride a motorcycle or a taxi going to BTS Mo Chit to get there faster. As for me, I walk 2.1 Kilometers for less than 30 minutes going to BTS Mo Chit. Tired but at least I get some compulsory exercise. When walking please use the overpass and avoid jaywalking.

Arriving at BTS Mo Chit, I ask myself what to do next?. I observe first then finally decided to buy a ticket at the ticket counter 1. I told the teller, "Pie Phrong Phong" means going to Phrong Phong BTS. I bought my ticket for 44 baht. She gave me a BTS tap card. I observe again on what to do next. Since it is my first time in Bangkok. I saw them tapped the BTS card in the steel gate to enter so I did the same and follow them upstairs where the train stops.

The waiting doesn't take long because the train arrived in about 5 minutes. From BTS Mo Chit it takes at least 25 minutes going to Phrom Phong BTS. As I wanted to make sure that the train is going to Phrom Phong BTS Station, I asked some locals there. When the train finally arrived at BTS Phrom Phong, I went out and started to walk 600 meters going to the Philippine Embassy as the google map says. I am happy to arrive there past 9:00 o'clock in the morning.

After processing my passport renewal at past 1 o'clock. I decided to go home immediately. From Philippine Embassy Bangkok, the google map says I should walk 90 meters going to Bus Stop and ride a bus number 511 going to Sai Tai Mai Bus Station. It took more than 30 minutes for me to ride the bus 511 from the Bus Stop that travels more than 2 hours going to Sai Tai Mai Bus Station. The bus fare costs 21 baht. You can also ride a taxi or motorcycle going to Sai Tai Mai Bus Station from the Philippine Embassy. As for me, the bus going to the south of Thailand will leave at 4:00 pm so I wasn't in a hurry. The bus 511 will take me there before 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon.

The bus 511 last stop is the Sai Tai Mai Bus Station or Southern Bus Station. The bus drops us in the oil station next to the Sai Tai Mai Station. I went inside the Station and bought a bus ticket on the 3rd floor going to Hatyai for 675 baht. It's a long journey again to go home. The bus that I rode has a free blanket and snacks (bread, bottled water and a cup of coffee). All prices above are subject to change.
